We made it to Paris!
What a wonderful exhausting day. We woke up and were out of the hotel by 8am and visited the castles of Amboise and Chenonceau. We toured Versailles (which was SUPER crowded because the Louvre was closed today and so all the tourists decided to check out Versailles). We had a history lesson on the bus before we arrived so the students were really able to understand what they were seeing while we were there. It was beautiful. Then a quick hour later we were wheeling our suitcases into our room in Paris where we will be for the next six nights. They were all relieved to be able to unpack a little and take a deep breath.
Dinner was fantastic- 3 course meal on the Ile St.Louis and a lovely stroll along the Seine and Notre Dame on our way back to the hotel. Our hotel is perfect except the wifi is a little spotty when there is high volume (I was just able to log on after trying for about 2 hours) so be patient if you are waiting to hear from your child :)
Half of the students were already asleep when we did bed checks at 10, apparantly those castles really wear you out. Tomorrow we take a morning bus tour of Paris and then meet our French students at Pere Lachaise for an afternoon together. Everyone is really excited to meet them, it will be great! Pics to follow if wifi cooperates. A demain!
