Day 3!

We had another amazing day in la Belle France. We woke up in our cute hotel near Mont St. Michel and drove 10 minutes to the mont. The weather was windy and chilly but the mont was breathtaking. We climbed all the way to the top and toured the abbey and the medieval passageways. The students really liked the cobblestone ramparts and tiny staircases. The island is surrounded by quicksand and was built in the year 709!!! There are only 3 people who live on the island with the monks. It was truly a sight to behold. Afterwards we hopped on the bus for a quick 45 minutes to the fishing village of St. Malo on the coast in the Northern part of Brittany. It is famous for the "corsairs" or pirates. We went into the old village and had lunch and shopped. The beach was beautiful but chilly. Then we took our big drive of 4.5 hrs from St. Malo to Tours (Loire Valley) where we made it safe and sound tonight. We just finished dinner and everyone is exhausted! Tommorrow to the castles- Amboise, Chenonceau, and lunch at Versailles. The bus will drop us in Paris tomorrow night where we will begin our 6 night stay! Everyone is excited. We can't believe it has only been 3 days, everyone is getting along SO WELL and when we did bed checks last night we were concerned when we knocked on 2 doors and there was no answer, then we got to the 3rd room and found them all together- 23!- giggling and just hanging out as a group. It was so sweet, we really do have an AMAZING group of beautiful young people travelling together. On a de la chance!! A demain.
